The First Form of【汝來神掌】: Men Left and Women Right
This time I want to share a basic knowledge of palmistry: "Should we read the left hand or the right hand?"
We now live in an era of advanced technology and information explosion. Many things can actually be analyzed and verified step by step, and palmistry is no exception. After 20 years of study and verification, the results can be explained from three perspectives:
We now live in an era of advanced technology and information explosion. Many things can actually be analyzed and verified step by step, and palmistry is no exception. After 20 years of study and verification, the results can be explained from three perspectives:
1. Medical Perspective
It is well known that the left brain has a greater influence on the right hand, and the right brain has a greater influence on the left hand. The left brain governs logical functions, while the right brain governs emotional functions. Therefore, right-handed people, influenced more by the left brain, tend to be realistic, analytical, and rational. Left-handed people, influenced more by the right brain, tend to be quick-thinking, sensitive, and emotional. This explains why people often say left-handers are smarter. Based on these characteristics, the left hand is considered innate (emotional, natural, inherited from parents), and the right hand is considered acquired (rational, action after thought).
2. Western Palmistry Perspective
According to the references the teacher consulted, most books explain using the left hand, with very few explanations for the right hand. In recent years, some publications propose the viewpoint "regardless of gender, left hand is innate, right hand is acquired." Western palmistry believes that the left hand's lines reflect more parental inheritance, including personal hobbies, interests, personality, preferences, and circumstances, while the right hand is more influenced by age, environment, and experiences, and is less emphasized. Thus, the left hand is innate (genetics, personality), and the right hand is acquired (subject to environmental changes).
3. Chinese Palmistry Perspective
In ancient China, palmistry differentiated between men and women: the left hand represents yang (father, male), the right hand represents yin (mother, female). Since China is a patriarchal society, the left is superior and the right is secondary, hence the saying "Men Left, Women Right." Although Chinese palmistry may appear superstitious, it also holds the view that the left hand is innate and the right hand is acquired. Innate can be defined as either personality or growth environment, while acquired changes result from rational thinking. Therefore, Chinese palmistry also suggests that after age 30, the right hand should be used as primary regardless of gender.
汝來神掌's Perspective
After 20 years of verification, when reading palms, the "dominant hand" should be prioritized, without distinguishing between men and women.
